To copy items to your iTunes library:
- In iTunes, choose Edit > Preferences and click Advanced.
- Select the “Copy files” checkbox and click OK.
- Choose File > Add File to Library.
- In the add to Library window, find the file, click to select it, and click on the Open button.
- iTunes places a copy of the file in your iTunes folder; the original file remains in its current location on your computer.
To transfer an MP3 music file from your computer to your Android phone:
- Use the USB cable to connect the Android phone to your computer.
- In your phone’s menu bar, you’ll see a USB icon.
- Drag on the menu bar down to uncover the note, “USB Connected.”
- Tap the “USB Connected.” message to get a dialog box giving you the choice, “Mount” or “Don’t Mount.”
- Click on “Mount.” Thst choice will make your phone visible to your computer.
- A dialog box should pop up asking what you want to do with the new hardware. Choose “Open Folder to View Files.”
If you don’t see the dialog box, go to the Start Menu and choose Computer. Then double click on “Removable Disk.” You should see a folder titled “Music” on your connected Android phone. The Android phone will be ready to accept the music files. - To find the downloaded MP3 files on your computer, go to the Downloads directory. In the Downloads directory, click on the MP3 file and drag the file from the Downloads directory on the computer to the Music directory on the Android Phone. It will take a few minutes for the files to transfer.
- After you have transferred all of the files, you’ll want to disconnect the Android phone properly to avoid damaging your computer or phone. To do that, click on the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” icon in the bottom right of your computer screen. Choose “Eject USB Mass Storage Device” and when a popup box says that it is safe to unplug the device, unplug the USB cord.
